While most parents would be proud to have their children be aware of the world around them, a host of negative news close to home including scary clown incidents, the Chelsea bombings and a fatal train accident in Hoboken can make it hard to encourage children to keep up with the news. Also, difficult for many has been how to explain to their children the issues raised by the current presidential campaign, which has unleashed a barrage of news about Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, including his recent comments on sexually assaulting women along with past disparaging remarks about immigrants, Muslims, Mexicans, and people with disabilities.
