With only twenty-two paintings produced over six decades, this Robert Ryman exhibition is a summa of the artist's process, via the reduction and synthesis of the fundamental elements of painting. Different mediums, textures, and supports - canvas, paper, aluminum, fiberglass, Plexiglas - are used to investigate the luminous frequency of white in all its possible gradations.
